Breakfast at Jordan’s Restaurant – A Staple Stop in Downtown Bar Harbor

Located right in the heart of downtown Bar Harbor, Jordan’s Restaurant sits at 80 Cottage Street, making it one of the most convenient and well-known breakfast spots in the area. It’s within walking distance of just about everything—shops, the waterfront, and the main downtown strip—which makes it an easy stop whether you’re starting your day or refueling after exploring.

A coffee mug with 'Jordan's Restaurant, Bar Harbor, Maine' printed on it, filled with coffee, placed on a wooden surface next to a bottle of juice and silverware.

When we went, the place was absolutely packed. There’s a constant flow of people coming in, and it’s clear this is not some hidden gem—it’s a well-established favorite. Despite how busy it was, the atmosphere didn’t feel overwhelming. Instead, it had this energetic, fast-paced rhythm that actually made the experience more enjoyable.

One of the first things you notice when you walk in is the open kitchen concept. You can see everything happening—the cooks moving quickly, the staff calling out orders, and the teamwork that keeps everything running smoothly. It gave me a bit of that classic diner feel, similar to Waffle House in terms of how visible and interactive the cooking process is, but with a more elevated, polished atmosphere that fits Bar Harbor perfectly.

The Food – What You Need to Order

Let’s get into the real reason this place is so popular—the food.

A plate of pancakes topped with blueberries and cream, accompanied by a side of sausage and another plate of plain pancakes.

The blueberry waffles were easily the highlight of the entire visit. Maine is known for its wild blueberries, and Jordan’s does them justice. The waffles were cooked perfectly with that crisp outside and soft, fluffy inside. But what really made them stand out was the blueberry syrup. It tasted fresh, rich, and not overly sugary—more like something homemade than the typical syrup you get at most breakfast spots.

Beyond the waffles, the menu is packed with options, and everything coming out of the kitchen looked just as good as what we ordered.

Some standout menu items worth trying:

  • Wild Maine Blueberry Pancakes – another must if you’re leaning toward something classic but still want that local flavor
  • Lobster Eggs Benedict – a coastal twist that you’ll see all over Maine, and Jordan’s version is a popular pick
  • Stuffed French Toast – rich, filling, and perfect if you’re in the mood for something indulgent
  • Traditional Breakfast Plates – eggs, home fries, toast, and your choice of meat, done right and served hot
  • Omelettes – large portions with a variety of fillings, great if you want something more savory

Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked generous in portion and consistent in quality, which explains why people keep coming back.

Overall Experience

Even with how busy it was, the service kept up. Food came out quickly, the staff stayed organized, and there was never a moment where things felt out of control. It’s one of those places where the energy works in its favor—it feels lively, not chaotic.

The combination of location, quality food, and efficient service makes it easy to see why Jordan’s has built such a strong reputation in Bar Harbor.

Pair It With Your Acadia Trip

A scenic view of rocky cliffs overlooking a calm blue ocean, with a sandy beach and forested area in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

If you’re planning a visit to Acadia National Park, this is the perfect place to start your day or recharge afterward. After a morning of hiking, exploring spots like Thunder Hole, or attempting to catch a sunrise (if you managed to snag a reservation), coming back into town and sitting down to a full breakfast like this just hits differently.

It’s filling, it’s satisfying, and it rounds out the whole Bar Harbor experience in the best way.

Final Thoughts

Jordan’s Restaurant isn’t trying to be trendy or over-the-top—it just does breakfast really, really well. From the quality of the ingredients to the consistency of the food and the prime downtown location, it checks every box.

If you’re in Bar Harbor, this is one of those places you make time for. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll probably find yourself thinking about those blueberry waffles long after your trip is over.
